Knauf Insulation Technical Solutions provides the complete range of products for applications in the fields of heating and sanitary facilities, air-conditioning and ventilation as well as for the construction of sound muffling units. Starting 2016 Knauf Insulation products for HVAC applications in Europe will be made with the innovative binder, ECOSE Technology.
Thermo-teK PS Pro ALU is a circular-wound Rock Mineral Wool pipe section (pre-formed pipe DN up to 300 mm) with premium thermal conductivity, excellent fire resistance and minimum product tolerances of the inner and outer diameters thanks to the use of innovative production technologies.
The 1200 mm long pipe section is slit on one side for easier installation and laminated with fibre glass reinforced, tear-resistant aluminium foil, which acts as a water vapour barrier and a self-adhesive seal to the longitudinal slit joint.
Due to the product’s technical properties, installation of additional cladding on indoor pipes is not needed.
Knauf Insulation Thermo-teK PS Pro ALU is produced with ECOSE® Technology, a patented binder system, based entirely on renewable raw materials.
The thermal conductivity at 40 °C mean temperature is 0,035 W/(mK).

WHAT IS ECOSE® TECHNOLOGY?
As the first mineral wool manufacturer in technical insulation Knauf offer their whole product range with ECOSE® Technology.
Since the introduction for HVAC applications in 2016, Knauf products with ECOSE® Technology have been refined and dedicated to high performance requirements in Technical Insulation. The excellent technical and fire performance characteristics of the naturally brownish colored insulation materials remain at constant high level. On top the new product range grants benefits in handling and sustainability compared to mineral wool with standard phenol-formaldehyde binder.
ECOSE® Technology is the result of five years of intensive research and extensive testing.
Driven by Knauf's constant efforts to supply innovative products to our customers, which satisfy market demands and the requirement for sustainable materials. In contrast to conventional phenol-formaldehyde resin binding agents, ECOSE® Technology is primarily based on natural organic raw materials.
No formaldehydes are added during manufacture, so that the binding agent mainly consists of naturally-occurring raw materials. Products which are manufactured with ECOSE® Technology do not contain phenols, colouring agents or artificial dyes.
Natural brown instead of yellow – this is the appearance of the natural Glass Wool insulation materials with formaldehyde-free binding agent, whose characteristic colour is not produced with dyes, but rather is completely natural.
Renewable raw materials in the binding agents have replaced almost all fossil fuel-based materials. We therefore save energy, and reduce power consumption and CO2 emissions. As well as this, products with the formaldehyde-free binding agent have a high insulating efficiency for thermal comfort, and are also non-combustible for personal safety.
Mineral Wool insulation materials with ECOSE® Technology therefore meet all of the relevant standards and also ensure for an excellent indoor air quality.
